TRAIL MIX Sunshine State Standards MA.5.A.2.2   Andrew received a letter from his pen pal Douglas. It read: Dear Andrew, Greetings! How is your hamster? My sister is still practicing piano. I still think we can work a trade. I want to tell you about a recipe for trail mix I really like. It’s 1/3 cup dried apples and 1/3 cup dried bananas. I can’t eat it all at once. 2/6 cup is really a lot. Let me know if you like it, too. You pen pal, Douglas P.S. My sister says I need to work on adding fractions.   Do you agree with Douglas’ sister? Write a letter to Douglas explaining your thoughts. You may draw some pictures to help explain your thinking.
