Active Learning: Teacher Reflections It is important to remember that active learning does not mean out-of-control. Active lessons are highly motivational and keep children engaged. A lesson that encourages discussion allows students to discover the meaning of the lesson. Incorporating movement into a math lesson is just one way to supplement the activities found in textbooks.
