Active Learning: Practicing with Meter Sticks With the teacher's guidance, students discuss how to measure a long distance using meter sticks. Students are first encouraged to express their ideas orally. In this case, the students demonstrate how to measure the distance using more than one meter stick. At the end of the demonstration the teacher reviews the steps necessary to measure the distance.
