- After I graduated from college, I joined the Peace Corps and went to Tanzania (it’s in Africa) to teach chemistry to high school students. Some of my students had never seen vinegar before! I taught them about acids, and then we used flower juice from the flowers in the schoolyard to measure whether things were acidic or basic.
