Armstrong, Neil Alden

An Encarta Encyclopedia article about the first man to set foot on the moon. He was on Apollo 11 that launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida on July 16, 1969 and arrived in orbit around the moon on July 20.

Astronaut Bio: Alan B. Shepard, Jr.

Information about the first American astronaut to enter space. On May 5, 1961 he was on the Freedom 7 spacecraft that launched from Florida and sent him to an altitude of 116 statute miles.
