The Whiddon house is an excellent example of Florida "Cracker" style. It was originally constructed in 1864 and was then moved to its present site in 1972.

Owners of this homestead would have used the grapes to produce jelly, preserves, and wine.

A bell in the backyard could have been used to summon the family to dinner or to sound an alarm in an emergency.
