Chronological photographs of Korczak


10 year old Janusz Korczak as a 10 year old boy. The picture was included in the book Krol Macius Pierwszy (Warszawa 1922) - King Matt the first. He wrote: "...I included this photograph because it is important what I looked like when I truly wanted to be a king...."
När jag var så stor som på fotografiet här, ville jag göra allt det som står beskrivet i boken. Kortet är med därför att det är viktigt att visa hur jag såg ut den gången när jag ville bli kung...

Bersons & Baumans Hospital at Sliska 51/Sienna 60 Bersons & Baumans Hospital at Sliska 51/Sienna 60. In this building Korczak lived and worked from the beginning of 1905 until end of June 1905 when Korczak had to leave for the army service during the war between Japan and Russia. Korczak's flat was located in the building on the left.

Saba Lejzerowicz (on the left side of Korczak) was deported together with Korczak and 200 children from his orphanage, in cattle railway cars to Treblinka. Misza Wroblewski (on the right of Korczak) survived deportation on 5th of August 1942 thanks to the work outside the ghetto that he carried out that day.


Korczak visited Israel During 1934 and 1936 Korczak visited Israel.

In the mid-November 1940 In the mid-November 1940, Dom Sierot (staff and 150 children) had to move from Krochmalna 92 to to Chlodna (street) 33. Picture taken after WWII.
