An inscription on the memorial reads: In commemoration of the more than 65,000 Austrian Jews who were killed by the Nazis between 1938 and 1945.
Around the base of the monument are the names of the camps to which Austria's Jewish population was deported. Visible in this photograph are Auschwitz, Belzec, Bergen-Belsen, Brcko, Buchenwald, and Chelmno.
