Frequently Asked Questions
1. My laptop's screen is broken, can the Faculty Support Team fix it for me?
Unfortunately, most parts on a laptop require service from a technician who is certified by the company that makes the laptop, otherwise you risk voiding your warranty. The Faculty Support Team is available to answer any software and technology integration questions you may have, and we can help troubleshoot your problem and let you know what the best course of action is, but we are not able to perform hardware repairs.
2. Can the Faculty Support Team come to my class?
Most of the team is made up of graduate students who take classes in the evenings. If your class is scheduled during the hours the Laptop Lounge is open (M-F, 9-5 PM) we will make every effort to accommodate your request to have one of our trainers come to your class to present a workshop or provide instructional support. We are unable to offer after hours (after 5 PM or weekends) support.
3. I am interested in learning a new technology that is not listed on your schedule, how can the Faculty Support Team support me?
You can make a suggestion for a workshop by emailing the Faculty Support Team at laptoplounge@coedu.usf.edu. We will try our best to prepare a workshop that meets your needs. We are also available for 1 on 1 sessions at times that are more convenient for you.
