Entrance to the Stephens House, which was built in "Cracker Gothic Style" in 1912. Because it was built before air conditioners were available, it is elevated two and a half feet off the ground to enable air to circulate underneath the house.
View behind the Stephens House showing an outhouse and the Potter Barn. The Potter Barn is a replica of the John Pople Harlee "100 Farm" barn, which is located just outside of Palmetto. It is an example of barns that were constructed in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Sugar cane mill located outside of the Smokehouse. A horse would be hitched to the end of the sweep, and as it walked in circles, it would turn the mill and grind the stalks.
