Krochmalna 92 before World War II. The Orphans Home, Dom Sierot, Warsaw, Krochmalna (street) 92. The home was build 1912 by architect Henryk Stifelman who planned it together with J. Korczak. Korczak had a room the attic. The attic was destroyed by a bomb during W.W.II and not fully reconstructed. Picture prior the year 1939. Dom Sierot, had to move in November 1940 from Krochmalna (street) 92 to Chlodna(street) 33 and thereafter to the building at Sienna16/Sliska 9. From Sienna/Sliska Korczak and his staff together with 200 orphans were taken to Treblinka extermination camp (August 5th 1942).

The Orphans Home, Dom Sierot, Warszawa, Krochmalna (street) 92. Rosa Abramowicz, a former pupil who joined the staff of the Dom Sierot. She was among the teachers who accompanied the orphans on the deportation in August 5th, 1942.
