Ring Tomb. At least 2,900 Buchenwald victims were buried in natural depressions at this site in March and April of 1945. This is the first of three depressions incorporated into the memorial design.

Street of all Nations. Along the Street of All Nations, eighteen pylons represent the nationalities of Buchenwald victims. Each pylon is topped with a torch which is lighted for special ceremonies.

Sculpture Group and Bell Tower. The sculpture group by Fritz Cremer emphasizes the resistance of Buchenwald prisoners. Behind the group, a 150-foot bell tower contains soil from many of the camps within the Nazi system.
