Entrance to the memorial. Bergen-Belsen was in operation from1940 until it was liberated April 15, 1945. Sign for visitors: "Visitors are requestet [sic] to observe the dignity of these memorial grounds and to refrain from disturbing the peace of the dead." Plan of the camp.
