Procedure Using a template, have students complete patterns. For example, if the pattern is red square, green square, red square, green square, what color square comes next? The students would use the fill tool to fill the last blank square red. Sunshine State Standards MA.D.1.1.2 NETS Profiles for Technology Literate Students Use a variety of media and technology resources for directed and independent learning activities. Use technology resources (e.g., puzzles, logical thinking programs, writing tools, digital cameras, drawing tools) for problem solving, communication, and illustration of thoughts, ideas, and stories. Materials Choose from the following tools: AppleWorks Microsoft Word Inspiration Kidspiration Alternatives/Extensions Students can make their own patterns to test their partners. This activity could also be done in Kidspiration using different pallettes. The teacher can also create their own pallettes to make the patterns more personalized. Return to top of page
