Stephanie Bridges: Japan and Germany

The cool part about having a dad in the military is I got to live in Japan for three years. I was pre-school age, so I don't remember much about Japan. I have pictures of me and one of my brothers. My other two brothers and a sister were born in Japan, so we have pictures of them as babies. I also lived in Germany when I was in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. This is a picture [she holds up photo] that was taken in Germany at a school dance. My mom and dad had a dance that same night at the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) club and when they came home, my dad took off his uniform jacket and hat and put it on me with the formal skirt I was wearing. In the photo, you can see all the stripes on the jacket - one stripe for every three years. I don't know how many stripes he has on there, but he retired as a first sergeant in the army.
