Hoss: Typhoon
Clip 4
Mr. Murray: Did you ever go through any storms?
Mr. Hoss: Oh yes. We went through 3 storms. My mind has gone blank on what they call them in the Pacific...
Mr. Murray: Cyclone? Typhoon?
Mr. Hoss: Yes, typhoon. A typhoon is what they call a hurricane in the Pacific. We never sustained any real damage. The ship was so large that you had no sense of movement unless you were looking at the ocean. It was usually very steady, so when a situation arose where a storm was moving around us, and we were in deep water, we knew we would have some real problems if it came across the bow.
