Edward
LaRue:
The Vietnamese Air Force
Clip 5
Mr. Murray: What were the people in the Vietnamese Air Force like?
Mr. Larue: They did their job.
Mr. Murray: Do you feel the training you did over there was worthwhile?
Mr. Larue: Oh yes. They didn't know how to use our weapons or aircraft. We were teaching them on T-28's.
Mr. Murray: The T-28 is a prop fighter?
Mr. Larue: Yes, it's a prop job. It looks like a P-47.
Mr. Murray: Did they use the T-28 for close air support of their troops?
Mr. Larue: Yes.
Mr. Murray: Did the Vietnamese Air Force lose any of those planes?
Mr. Larue: Yes. They lost planes. We tried to teach them how to hang their rockets and how to maintain their guns.
