MacIntire: What was I doing there?
Clip 2
When I first arrived in Vietnam, I was stationed in Saigon. My job was to make coffee. For the first three weeks, three times a day, I was making coffee. I asked myself, what was I doing there... you know, as a cook? Saigon wasn't bad. They'd blow up buildings once in a while, but it wasn't bad and it didn't affect me. I just kept thinking, what was I doing here cooking? The whole thing to me was a waste.
