After I got out of the service, I went back to Chicago where I had grown up and where I was drafted. My brother was working at AT&T at the time. I didn't have a job and didn't really feel like looking for one. My brother told me AT&T was hiring, so I went down there and filled out an application. I was hired and spent the next 30 something years at AT&T.
