Grade Levels: 9 through 12

Goal:

To explore the use of primary sources (artifacts, testimony, documents) as a technique for students to construct meaning through investigation and interaction with teachers and other students.

Procedure:

Using these primary sources:

  1. An artifact or document
  2. A specific biographical reference or survivor testimony
  3. A map
  4. A photograph

Create questions that either lend themselves to further investigation or can be answered by use of these documents. Strive for higher order, open ended questions.
