Ninth Fort, Exterior

The killing fields of the Ninth Fort in Kaunas, Lithuania. Trenches were dug here. Victims were lined up along the trenches and shot. When the Nazis realized that the war might be lost, they ordered prisoners to dig up the bodies and burn them in an attempt to cover their crimes.
