In order to create a new survey, or clone an existing one, you must first login to your TIM Tools account. From your homepage, click the Survey Tool (Beta) option under the main menu on the left-hand side of the screen. You’ll then be redirected to a new page in order to begin creating a survey.
Under the Available Surveys section, you will see a list of current surveys that you and your members have access to. All surveys that appear in this list are classified as live surveys, which means they are open and available to be taken. You may have additional surveys in your account, but they will not appear on this list unless they are live.
Survey Maker – Our Surveys: This area provides a list of surveys that have already been created by you or members of your team, within your TIM Tools account. You have the option to make a survey live, edit a survey, remove a survey, or download data from a specific survey.
At the top of the page, you also have the option to create a new survey. Start by entering a title for the survey you wish to create, then click on the Create New Survey button on the right of the text box.
Be sure to save any changes you make along the way, and before moving forward to the next section.
In the Intro and Closing Statements section, you can add introductory text and closing remarks to your survey. This is a great way to give your members a quick overview of what the survey is for and to thank them for participating.
Add Sections: Create different sections for your survey and arrange them in the order you’d like them to appear. Again, remember to save your changes. You can always go back in and add more sections, or remove some, if you decide to.
Add Questions by Section: This part of the survey builder allows you to add questions to each section you created in your survey. You can select which type of questions you’d like to add from a drop-down menu. The question types include descriptive text, free text, multiple choice, multiple response, rating scale (agreement), and rating scale (frequency). Once all your questions have been added to the sections, you can arrange them in a different order if necessary.
Preview Survey: This is the final step in creating a survey, and will redirect you to a new window so you can preview your survey before submitting and closing it. You also have the option to save the survey and return to it later, in order to make any final revisions prior to submitting it.
Cloning Surveys: In order to clone a survey, go to the Survey Library located in the Survey Maker. The library contains pre-loaded surveys that we’ve created with the option to clone. Simply locate the survey you wish to duplicate, and click on the Clone Survey button to the right of the survey. Once you’ve cloned it, the survey will appear at the bottom of the Our Surveys section. From there, you can edit the survey further or leave it as is.
