When you select Observation Tool (TIM-O)<\/strong> from the Main Menu, the TIM-O Dashboard<\/strong> will display. Each previous observation will be listed by teacher, school, and date. To the right of each observation will be three buttons: Edit<\/strong>, Delete<\/strong>, and Published \/ Not Published<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Click the Edit<\/strong> button to edit a previous observation. The observation will re-open allowing edits to the profile, notes, and document links. In most cases, observers will be editing unpublished observations. Perhaps the observer had time only to enter rough notes during the observation and at a later time wants to polish those notes and move them into the report comments field. There may even be times when an observer wants to edit a published observation. Perhaps a week after the observation is published, the teacher sends the observer the URL of completed student work from the lesson. The published observation could be edited to include a document link to the student work.<\/p>\n Click the Delete<\/strong> button to delete a previous observation. Even previously-published observations can be deleted if circumstances require it.<\/p>\n Use the Published \/ Not Published<\/strong> button to toggle the publication state of the observation in either direction. If an observation is published, then the entire content of the observation (excepting the “My Notes” field) is available to the system and will appear in reporting. “Not Published” buttons are highlighted in yellow so observers can tell at a glance which observations they have not yet completed and published.<\/p>\n An unpublished observation is visible to only the observer and will not appear even in spreadsheet downloads the observers themselves make. Typically, observers complete as much of the TIM-O as possible during the actual observation period, but leave the observation unpublished. \nThe TIM-O is designed to guide principals, teachers, and others through the process of evaluating the level of technology integration within a particular lesson and helps provide a clear picture of the professional development needed to support further technology integration. Two variations of the TIM-O are available within TIM Tools. The TIM-R allows for teacher reflection and the TIM-LP is used for lesson plan review.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\nThe TUPS is the perfect tool to use annually, or at the beginning and end of any technology project to measure the changes in how teachers relate to technology in their work. It supports teacher inquiry by providing the teacher with a tool for recording changes in classroom usage of technology. The information is also useful for planning technology infrastructure and support and getting a snapshot of the perceptions of teachers.<\/p>\n

\nThe ARTI tool provides a framework for teachers to design and conduct their own action research projects. ARTI takes teachers through the five basic steps of an action research project including: identification of a question, description of the context, data collection, analysis, and the creation of findings.<\/p>\n

\nThe Report Tool allows a school or district to create new reports using the Report Builder. Choose the option to create new TIM-LP, TIM-O, TIM-R, or TUPS reports. Use the Report Tool Dashboard to review the number of complete, incomplete, published, and unpublished reports in your system. View all previous reports, along with newly created reports, in the Report List.<\/p>\n

\nThe Survey Tool allows a school or district to create surveys on new topics as needed. The surveys can be offered to TIM members only or made available to the general public. Surveys can be built from scratch or users can start with a survey from the included library of sample surveys.<\/p>\n
