The TIM Coaching Tool supports consistent, guided, reflective practice across a school or district coaching or mentoring program. See how its framework is specific enough to keep a coaching cycle focused and moving along, but flexible enough to accommodate most coaching or mentoring models.<\/p>\n

The TIM-C allows the coach and the teacher receiving the coaching to document their journey through five phases of a typical coaching cycle:<\/p>\n

Phase 1: Set Goals. In the first phase, a focus is selected, goals are identified, and data is used to inform the goal selection.<\/p>\n

Phase 2: Plan Activities. This phase documents the activities that are planned to reach the goal(s) identified in phase one.<\/p>\n

Phase 3: Monitor Progress. This phase includes a “check-ins” feature to record communication between the coach and the client. This creates a running record of all of the interactions between coach and client. The second section provides a place to indicate progress on the activities.<\/p>\n

Phase 4: Record Outcomes. In this phase, the TIM-C provides a place to record outcomes and to document those outcomes with data from within TIM Tools or with a link to external data. <\/p>\n

Phase 5: Reflection. In this phase, both the coach and client intentionally reflect on the cycle individually.<\/p>\n

Christine also discusses the benefits of using the TIM-C including its flexibility, that it can be used with a variety of instructional coaching or mentoring approaches or with self-coaching, and that many of the components are optional, based on the needs and structure of your coaching or mentoring program.<\/p>\n
