We were covering matter today. The students were analyzing the different phases (the solid, the liquid, and the gas) as well as how we measure matter. Today currently I used the Promethean Board which is our interactive whiteboard. The students also have little active expressions out on their desk that they use to submit answers. Today you saw true and false and multiple choice. The students also have capabilities that we didn&#8217;t even have time to use today, but they can text their answers up to the board we can sort them.<\/p>\n<p>[Student 1 speaking]<\/p>\n<p>You can just write it on their expressions, and a lot of kids have cell phones now. I&#8217;m one of them you. You get into texting so much that you can practice at school.<\/p>\n<p>[Teacher voiceover]<\/p>\n<p>The lessons aren&#8217;t just like &#8220;take out this book we&#8217;re going to read it.&#8221; We still have to read obviously, but they aren&#8217;t just the teacher up there discussing like a professor talking in monotone. it&#8217;s so much more interactive, with all the little video clips you can do. They&#8217;re fun and short and sweet, and they want to the next one. You can ask questions &#8211; it&#8217;s so much more engaging.<\/p>\n<p>[Student 1 voiceover]<\/p>\n<p>Kids don&#8217;t say things like &#8220;Oh my god, this is so boring.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[Teacher voiceover]<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re going to pay that much more attention, which is going to help them really grasp the information and do really well on the assessments.<\/p>\n<p>[Student 2 speaking]<\/p>\n<p>We get the results back, looking at it, like, the grade and tell us what we did and how we did, and so someone else could tell us why we got it wrong.<\/p>\n<p>[Teacher voiceover]<\/p>\n<p>And if one student is stuck with one of the questions about energy, and another student can easily jump in and chime in, &#8220;This is the right answer and this is why.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[Student 1 voiceover]<\/p>\n<p>When you get it, you know that you need to work on something and let&#8217;s say that you just did a regular piece of paper, you just have to wait until your teacher grades it so it&#8217;d be kind of more difficult.
