One of our projects is a poetry project where the students get to use their laptops to research a poem, and develop a lesson that they give and teach poetry to their fellow students.<\/p>\n<p>They find out information about the poet and the poem. The students then make a movie video of sorts, of the actual poem, and they try to project the meaning of the poem through pictures as well as text.<\/p>\n<p>In one example, the actual poet who is still living, Cheryl Sawyer, who wrote this very moving poem about 9\/11 is corresponding with my students. My students initiated e\u2010mailing her and she graciously responded and this poet has asked to see a copy of the students\u2019 work. And so the students will be sending their iMovie in QuickTime format to the poet.
