Since I&#8217;m not that much of a technological person, I enlisted the help of our eighth graders. So we got together and I talked about what we wanted to create, which was a video to share the knowledge that we&#8217;ve learned in first grade of all the rules of the spelling patterns based on the characters that we study.<\/p>\n<p>In the pre-planning stages the children selected words that represented all the spelling patterns that we learned, and then we brought the eighth graders in and they began to collaborate on skits that they would do to represent the sound. The kids worked in small groups together, and in the end they edited all the work together and added sound effects. So they took the information that we planned, along with the information that they came up with, and they made their videos.
