Welcome to the Florida Standards website, where the public is encouraged to provide comment regarding proposed changes to the Sunshine State Standards.

Social Studies
The Florida Department of Education is beginning the process of revising the Social Studies standards for Florida's students. Framers, please link to the Social Studies resources page to find information for you to examine prior to your meeting. While the DOE will supply most of these documents for you, you may choose to bring your own copies with you. In addition, feel free to bring other documents you believe will help assist this process.

Science
The proposed revisions to Florida's science standards are now available for public comment at the Science Standards Review website. In the interest of ensuring that these standards are clear, concise, and accurate, the Office of Mathematics and Science in the Florida Department of Education invites you to rate each of the benchmarks and provide valuable feedback to the writers. If you would like to explore the source materials from which these standards were derived, please review the Science resources used by the framers and writers of the proposed standards.

Use this link to review the proposed Access Points for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities for the Science Sunshine State Standards. For information about the access points, contact Elise Lynch. For assistance with the survey, contact Marty Beech.

Mathematics
The new Mathematics Content Standards were approved by the State Board of Education on September 18, 2007 and are available as both an MS Word document and as a PDF file. A Math resources list includes presentations from the 2006 Florida Math Standards Conference.

Language Arts
The new Reading and Language Arts standards have been approved by the State Board of Education and are now available for viewing.

Sunshine State Standards
PDF versions of current Sunshine State Standards are available from this menu. You can now use our new Sunshine State Standards Search feature to search the standards by keyword in any subject area or grade level.

Access points for gifted learners are currently being developed for the newly revised Reading/Language Arts standards, and will be added to each new set of standards as they become available. Florida's Frameworks for K-12 Gifted Learners is a resource that educators of gifted learners can use to enhance the level of rigor and intellectual challenge in theirs classrooms.
