Description: This detail of a map from the Tanner's Universal Atlas shows towns, forts, roads, canals, major rivers and lakes in Escambia County. The county is shown between Escambia River, and Perdido River. On the coast, these rivers empty into respective bays, the Escambia Bay and the Perdido Bay. Pensacola lines the coast as well, bordering Pensacola Bay. There are references to forts, battlefields, and routes used by the Army during the Seminole War.
