  • I remember studying chemistry in high school. My teacher said that scientists do not explain how the world works, but just make up stories to explain the facts that we observe. We call the stories theories. If the theories explain what we already know and predict facts that we do not know yet, then they are useful. I liked to sit in class and make up alternative stories to explain the facts that we learned in class.
