Florida, Florida, Florida Moon
Shining so brightly a bove
It’s just as well you know
That on account of you
I’m in love

Florida Moon, Florida Moon
Shine for my sweetie is meeting me soon
Here where the breeze
Sings in the trees
Soon you will be viewing
Some romantic wooing
Underneath your silvery rays
She will name that wonderful day of days

Florida Moon, Florida Moon
I you will help me I’ll get her answer
Under the Florida Moon.

By the 1920’s, technology was in place for making sound recordings. Early records were made on wax cylinders, before flat disc records were developed. The earliest disc recordings spun at a speed of 78 revolutions per minute, and were simply called ‘78’s. This rendition of “Florida Moon” utilizes modern digital technology to simulate what a recording in 1920 might have sounded like.
