This VR opens looking south along the counterscarp wall which protected the landward face of the fort from artillery fire. The darker brick structure at the center is Bastion "A." Moving to the right, the broad, dry moat comes into view. Trees at the edge of the fort's parade ground are visible over the fort's east wall. The last section of the fort to come into view is Bastion "E." Each bastion allowed cannons to sweep the dry moat during an assult. Continuing to the right, you return to the counterscarp wall with a sliver of Pensacola Bay visible on the horizon.Credit: Panorama movie produced by the Florida Center for Instructional Technology from original photographs.
