Florida: Empire of the Sun

1930

Cuba–Just a half-day's ferry ride from Key West or two hours by plane from Miami is the great island republic of Cuba, with its quaint capital city, Havana, easily accessible to Florida tourists. The great Cuban Central Highway opens new vistas of tropical sights and scenes; little villages nestling among the hills, extensive sugar plantations and wide fields of waving tobacco plants. Havana, an interestingly sophisticated city, is sometimes called the "Paris of the Americas.''
