Virginia Creeper
- Description: Virginia creeper growing on a tree in Maclay Gardens. Virginia creeper is a woody vine that is native to certain areas in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Guatemala. It can grow to around 25 meters in height and uses tendrils (stem or stalk-like parts of the plant) that contain an adhesive substance in order to stay attached to its host. It is widely used as an ornamental plant, because it turns an attractive burgundy color in the fall.
