Good teachers view teaching as a process that requires continual refinement. Reflecting on which instructional approaches and strategies worked or didn't work is essential if teachers are to continually improve their teaching and better meet the needs of their students.


Reflect on the processes and outcomes of your teaching. Issues to consider include:

  • the effectiveness of the decisions and strategies you employed

  • the challenges you faced as you taught

  • the changes you would make in your decisions or strategies if you had the chance to teach the topic again

  • changes you would make to more adequately meet the needs of individual students
