Puzzle Directions: Click on a puzzle piece and drag it where you want it. When you connect two pieces correctly, they will join together. This is an extra hard double-sided puzzle. The same map is printed on both sides the pieces. Some of the pieces are turned over to the wrong side. To flip a piece over, hold down the "T" key and click on the puzzle piece. Mix up the pieces again. View finished map in pop-up window. |
| Title: Generalized Distribution of Sulfate Concentration in the Upper Floridan Aquifer System of West Central Florida Projection: Unknown Source Bounding Coordinates: W: -83 E: -81.15 N: 28.15 S: 26.3 |
| | Description: This map from the U. S. Geological Survey Water Resources Investigation Report number 96-4030, Potential for Water-Quality Degradation of Interconnected Aquifers in West-Central Florida, shows the generalized distribution of sulfate in water from the Upper Floridan aquifer system in west-central Florida in milligrams per liter. The map shows well locations and the approximate boundary of the intermediate aquifer system in the region. Thousands of deep artesian wells were drilled into the Upper Floridan aquifer in west-central Florida prior to well-drilling regulations, and were left open to multiple aquifers containing water of varying quality. These open boreholes serve as a potential source of water quality degradation. The map scale is 1:500,000. Source: P. A. Metz and D. L.
