Dr. Han is joining the Early Childhood Education program from her recent faculty position at the University of Louisville. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida, where she was a recipient of the University Alumni Fellowship. Previously, she was a preschool and kindergarten teacher and taught young children from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Han's research interests align with the major framework of 'sociocultural influence on teaching and learning', with a specific focus on early childhood teacher education, young children's language and social development, and multicultural education.
She is currently involved in projects including developing effective professional development experiences for preschool teachers, enhancing pre-service teachers' critical thinking abilities, and supporting young children's social competence as a foundation for academic readiness. Her scholarly works are published in Journal of Research in Childhood Education, Early Childhood Research and Practice, and Early Childhood Education Journal.
