Donna Stewart is not new to USF. She began teaching in Childhood Education in fall 2001 as an adjunct. Last year she was a visiting instructor and this year she was hired as an instructor. She presently teaches Classroom Management and our online Literature for Children course.
Before coming to USF Donna had a 30-year career in schools supervising student teachers at Kansas State University, and teaching elementary and middle school grades in school districts in California, Ohio, Kansas, and Nebraska. When she retired in Nebraska, she had taught grades 4 through 8. In Nebraska she was state finalist for the Nebraska Presidential Award for Excellence in Elementary School Science Teaching and served on numerous district level committees, including the district science textbook adoption committee and the district standards committee.
Donna has an undergraduate degree in biology from California State Polytechnic University and completed her graduate studies in Early and Middle Childhood Education at Ohio State University.
