TIM Tools— A Tech Coach’s Plan

In this session, Michele Gasser shares her district’s plan to use the TIM tools. As a K-12 district’s technology coach, Michele is working on rolling out the TUPS and sharing the TIM. Her plans include using the TIM-C, TIM-O and TIM-R to support teachers in meaningful technology integration.

After placing technology in the classrooms and conducting extensive professional development, the district realized that it still had a challenge—How to measure their technology use and ensure that it was being implemented in a way that amplified teaching and learning. Michele decided that the solution would be to use the Technology Integration Matrix as the roadmap for tech integration and to use TIM Tools for understanding teacher perceptions, observing technology use in action, and implementing coaching cycles with teachers.

Michele then explains the value of the TIM-C coaching tool and how she’ll use the phases of the coaching cycle. As a consultant for her district, she appreciates how the TIM Tools document the progress of tech integration.
