Today’s lesson was basically review from the matter unit that we’ve been reviewing for about a week now, and it just helps them practice vocabulary skills and some concepts that were taught throughout the unit. Today we use a smart board and some United Streaming footage, and they are to help refresh, to use it as a resource for the vocabulary, and some interactive games and activities so that they can practice with the vocabulary and other the concepts of states of matter. I think it helps them, along with letting them work together in pairs. I always have my class paired up so they can share with our neighbors, ones and twos, and hold them accountable for making sure they’re fully engaged in the activity, and responsible for the review questions that they might be asked.

  • Students will complete a table using the Smartboard.
  • Students will view videos from United Streaming.
  • Students will engage in interactive activities and games to practice vocabulary.

Procedure

  • Students will be assigned a partner.
  • Students will complete a table by classifying objects based on physical properties.
  • Students will watch United Streaming footage to review vocabulary words.
  • Students will complete activities and games to review vocabulary and concepts from the unit.

Note: The TIM is about teaching, not technology. The placement of a lesson on the TIM is based entirely on the teaching practices demonstrated in the lesson and not on the specific technology employed.
